LEGION IN THE COMMUNITY

This year we have raised the profile of our presentation, LEGION IN THE COMMUNITY. With our marquee and new display boards we have attended a number of events in our area.

The Branch team to date have been to the following events. Belvoir Castle Steam Fair, Stapleford Park Steam Rally, Melton Country Fair in Melton Park, The Stapleford Park Miniature Steam Event and helped man the County Trailer at the Leicestershire County Show.

The aim of these presentations is to raise awareness to the public of the work carried out by the Royal British Legion, and the conversations on the day with veterans old and new and the feedback have made our attendance at the above events worthwhile.

Coming along later in the year will be our Annual Armistice Dinner which will be held on the 30th of October also a presentation in the Melton Library of the Royal British Legion’s work in the community. During Poppy Week, thanks to Melton Town Estate, we will be manning our stall in the local market on Saturday 7th November and Tuesday the 10th November
